Twenty-five years ago saw the establishment of a powerful partnership for progress in Calgary’s Beltline – the alliance of the Calgary Police Service (CPS) and The Mustard Seed Street Ministry.
And on May 26, Mustard Seed CEO and founder Pat Nixon honoured that partnership by presenting a plaque symbolizing the community’s appreciation to Police Chief Rick Hanson in the historic Mustard Seed building on 11 Ave. and Centre St. SE.

With four times the number of officers walking the beat than before, Calgary police say they now have the manpower to better fight street crime in the city’s core.
After standing shoulder to shoulder in front of City Hall for a public unveiling on Wednesday afternoon, 62 new Calgary police officers began patrolling crime hot spots in and around the city’s core.
