Ever wonder how Calgary's Centre City gets clean and safe? Well, it takes a lot of work and planning by The City and its partners - but in the end, it comes down to the everyday efforts of Calgarians and their visitors. Simple things like putting your cigarette butt in designated ashtrays, garbage in bins and calling 3-1-1 when you spot something that needs attention (or 9-1-1 in an emergency).
Today, Centre City Implementation's (a business unit at the City of Calgary) Clean to the Core program is recognizing some Calgarians who have made a real difference in ensuring the core stays clean and safe. Keep an eye on this blog this afternoon - where I'll list all the people and organizations who are getting a HUGE thank you today. It's important to remember that keeping our Centre City a place where we all want to be - is a shared responsibility.
