No need for festival withdrawal in the Centre City post-Calgary Folk Music Festival revelry. There's still a steady stream of art, culture and music festivals running through our Centre City. Here's a list of useful links for you - and make sure you let us know which events you're most likely to take part in. (We're sort of nosy and we like to know what our readers are into!)
Calgary International Blues Festival (August 1st - 7th): Sing your woes away along with a long list of internationally acclaimed and much-beloved blues msuicians at the Centre City's Shaw Millennium Park.
Taste of Calgary (August 11th - 14th): Fill your belly with some of the great international dishes at the Taste of Calgary celebration. Better get out your stretchy-waistband pants for this one!

Chinatown Street Festival (August 13th): A day of fun, festing, dancing and shopping in our city's historic Chinatown.
Calgary International ReggaeFest (August 18th - 20th): Jam the days and nights away during this fantastic Reggae dance party.

Globalfest (August 19th - 27th): This is Calgary's much-cherished multicultural festival and also the most amazing fireworks festival your eyes will ever see!
And... the Calgary Fringe Festival (July 29th - August 6th) Most events are on the outskirts of the Centre City's (in Inglewood) parameters but it definitely bears mentioning, nonetheless.

There is also Africa day festival in Calgary between Aug. 8 - 13.
