Keep your eyes peeled for some steely, colourful people that are now part of ourCentre City landscape.
It's a public art installation outside the 7th Avenue and Centre Street LRT platform downtown and it's called TransitStory. Artist Jill Anholt created the playful artwork of 30 sculptures of people made out of steel and painted vibrant orange, yellow, green and blue.
They look like they're frozen in a moment; some hands up in conversation, others mid-step, looking down, perhaps at their phone...it's as though they've just stepped off the train and they're on their way to work, school or home, dinner or a show...here, take a look:

Jill Anholt,the visual artist who made this installation, is a former Calgarian with a passion for creating public art installations which draw people in and engage them.
This TransitStory installation is intended to enliven and enrich the ridership and pedestrian experience and it also works to help bring a feeling of safety and security to the area as it will draw more people in to visit and explore the work.
