Last year we told you about plans to build an experience centre - an impressive 8,000 square food sales and marketing space in the East Village - well lo and behold, Mayor Naheed Nenshi was at the centre's ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday!

Mayor Nenshi, along with Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC) President and CEO Michael Brown, representatives of EMBASSY BOSA Inc. and FRAM + SLOKKER (neighborhood developers), were there for the big ceremony amidst the snow flurries.
This space combines a visitor information centre that highlights the story of East Village and its evolution into a neighbourhood that will eventually house 11,500 residents, as well as a sales centre showcasing the residential units and stylings of the neighbourhood’s pioneering developers. This will provide a great chance for people to discuss ideas and view designs, concepts and sales for the future housing and amenities in our East Village. It is an ideal way to help Calgarians to envision what the very near future holds for this area.
